The Museum's P-40 Warhawk is a combat veteran aircraft that was recovered outside Murmansk, in the former Soviet Union. Restored to flying condition in New Zealand, the aircraft was marked as one used by David Lee "Tex" Hill during his time with the American Volunteer Group, better known as the Flying Tigers.

The aircraft bears Hill's signature, applied after he flew in the airplane following its restoration. The art on the front of the shirt features this signature as it is found on the aircraft. By Chad Hill of Django Studios, the illustration on the back depicts our P-40 in flight over a landscape reminiscent of a traditional Chinese painting. The Chinese characters translate to "Flying Tigers Unit."
