As the only flying example of a C-46 Commando preserved in a Museum collection anywhere in the world, The Tinker Belle has a special place in the Military Aviation Museum collection. C-46s made it possible to execute a dangerous airlift over the Himalayas from China to India, and The Tinker Belle honors the men of the Air Transport Command and USAAF units who faced the daunting challenges posed by the mountains.
The adoption package includes a double-sided specification sheet, with more information about this unusual warbird. The front also features custom art by Chad Hill of Django Studios. The illustration features iconic elements of the Hump airlift and was inspired by a vintage travel poster.
Also included in the package is a personalized adoption certificate and a special aircraft adopter patch, available only to those who symbolically adopt the C-46 as part of this package.
